Or ypu an post them direct to Guide Dog Stamps, PO Box 139, Slough, Berkshire SL1 4PU. Guide dogs has been collecting stamps since the 1970s and each year more than 20,000 kilos of stamps are donated to the charity and turned into cash. Each kilo that Guide Dogs collects is sold to a firm in Denmark for up to £1.50. They are then divided into smaller packs and sold on to collectors throughout Europe. No need to soak them off the envelope or sort them but if they can be trimmed to about 1/4" all round that helps. Stamps must be complete with no tears or creases. Silver Paper and FoilGuide dogs no longer collect this. Ink Jet CartridgesYou can 'Freepost' envelopes to post your used inkjet cartridges for re-use, which is an environmentally friendly thing to do anyway, to a firm that makes a donation of £1 to Guide Dogs for every cartridge sent to them. The cartridges are tested, cleaned, refilled using environmentally sound methods and materials, and sold back to users like you and me. To get envelopes go to e-mail inkjet@guidedogs.org.uk. |
